INTERNAL CASE RECORD IR-VR R-23-105-07

[54] 00/00/00 ▶ Rafie [23-105-07] :
One of them, Ian [Ian F. 23-101-02, Missing], invited me over one night. said they had a place for me near them, Which was, wow, great. Some stuff at the dorm was getting to me and I was like, broke.

[55] 00/00/00 ▶ Dael [BARAHA-EVALUATOR] :
But you didn't move in with them, correct? You stayed at your previous residence?

[56] 00/00/00 ▶ Rafie [23-105-07] :
Yeah.

(Dael nods, notes it down.)(Rafie shifts in chair.)

[57] 00/00/00 ▶ Rafie [23-105-07] :
So when I got there, everything seemed normal. It was Ian, Arlo, and I. We had dinner.

[58] 00/00/00 ▶ Rafie [23-105-07] :
They showed me the room. But I noticed the ceiling was pretty low, so I asked what was up with that. Arlo laughed, said it was probably meant for storage more than to be an actual room. It was low enough that we could reach up and tap on it. (Gestures)

[59] 00/00/00 ▶ Rafie [23-105-07] :
(Shrugs) It felt harmless. But they were pretty insistent, kept trying to sell me on the idea, future plans with them and all.

[60] 00/00/00 ▶ Rafie [23-105-07] :
I realized the sound of the room changed. The echoes were louder.

[61] 00/00/00 ▶ Rafie [23-105-07] :
(Voice Cracks) The ceiling was rising slowly. Stretching itself. That's when I knew.

(Pause. Rafie's breathing turns heavy.)

[62] 00/00/00 ▶ Rafie [23-105-07] :
I uh, I turned to ask if they noticed, but their faces... They were wrong. Stretched just like the room, like their heads were made of clay and someone had pulled them while I wasn't looking.

(Pause.)

[63] 00/00/00 ▶ Rafie [23-105-07] :
(Hands shaking) Ian said, 'Look at that, It's already making space for you, friend.'

[64] 00/00/00 ▶ Rafie [23-105-07] :
I ran. Texted who I could about it, ringing the others' doorbells in the middle of the night, but...

[65] 00/00/00 ▶ Rafie [23-105-07] :
(Dejected) Either no one answered, they'd already changed, or they thought I was losing it. I didnt know where else to go. So I locked myself in my dorm that night and refused to sleep at all.

[Uncorroborated - likely other individuals from Batch 101. Recommendation to cross reference with Rafael's network of close contacts]

(Pause.)

[66] 00/00/00 ▶ Dael [BARAHA-EVALUATOR] :
(Writing) How long ago was this?

[67] 00/00/00 ▶ Rafie [23-105-07] :
A couple of months ago or something, I'm not sure. I don't stay out for too long anymore so I've kinda lost track.

(Dael looks up from the clipboard at Rafie, then continues writing.)

[68] 00/00/00 ▶ Dael [BARAHA-EVALUATOR] :
Have you spoken to any of them since?

[69] 00/00/00 ▶ Rafie [23-105-07] :
(Taken aback) No. No way. I haven't gone near any of them since. I can't. I don't think they're them anymore. And to be honest, I'm scared as hell. I don't know anymore if it was really happening, but I know it felt just like it did back then.
